When planning to travel, choosing your hotel accommodations can be at times a daunting task. Probably the most important factor for many of us is cost. Hotel accommodation prices range from very cheap to very expensive. When reviewing which hotel is best for you, make sure you can actually afford to enjoy the stay, and try to be honest with yourself whether you really need all the offered amenities.
Reviewing Budget Hotels - There are budget hotels all over the world. Some are part of larger chains while many are owned independently. Most large hotel chains also have budget divisions. When reviewing a budget hotel you should still expect clean, livable and comfortable rooms. Don't expect expensive amenities or fine linens. You should also expect to pay for phone calls and a TV with nation-wide channels only. You may need to bring your own belongings to your room and some may not have room service. Many budget hotels serve a simple breakfast of toast and coffee in the room or in the lobby. For backpackers, these hotels save money, time and are very convenient for a quick nights sleep.
Reviewing Moderate Hotels - Many moderate hotels are independently owned with strong local roots. However, some larger hotel chains, such as Hilton or Marriott, also have moderate hotel service. When reviewing moderate hotels, you should expect rooms with better conveniences. Most will have cable TV and you can expect to find a standard internet connection in your room. You are likely to find room service and possibly a bellboy. Amenities such as a pub, swimming pool or a restaurant are usually located within the building, and services such as beauty salons and health clubs may also be available. The decor and linen in the rooms should be of a higher quality.
Reviewing Upscale Luxury Hotels - These hotels are usually located in larger cities while some are privately owned, most are part of a larger chain. When reviewing these hotels, you should expect top quality accommodations, with a lovely decor. The amenities should be the best you can find. The rooms should have full cable and movie channels, as well as either high-speed cable or wireless internet access. Expect high quality towels and linens, along with superior mattresses and furniture. Many have more than one fine bar and restaurant, each with a unique theme. You should also expect a polite concierge eager to cater to all your needs. However, be prepared to pay a premium rate for all of these extra services!
