New Adventures in sign language!

Secret Mommy is always looking for new challenges.  (Despite considering myself a pretty lazy person...)  Right now life obviously is busy.  We're expecting a new baby in May or June.  I'm in charge of the fundraising auction for my son's preschool, which will be held in April.  And I just decided to start a new business.  Nothing like keeping the schedule full, 'eh?

I've just received my training materials and will soon become an Independent Certified Instructor for the Baby Signs® Program.  I'm super excited about this as I have done sign language with both boys and it was a very rewarding experience.  I'm a strong believer that it really did cut down on frustrations and tantrums in my kids during those pre-talking and new-talking with few words stages of life.  Mostly, though, I always just found it a fun way to engage and play with them when sometimes it's hard to find something baby might be interested in.  (Besides, of course sucking on their toes for the 11th hour that day...)  Haha!

I'll be keeping you all posted here as I get set up with my new business website which will include a link to ordering materials and seeing my class schedule.

It's funny that I've decided to embark upon this adventure RIGHT as Eddie and Henry both have recently re-discovered sign language.  They obviously both speak a lot now (seriously, a LOT!) but now they are curious about how to say fun things like dinosaur or giraffe or dirt or bug.  And they both also seem to remember that since THEY did sign language as babies that they want to help teach their new baby sister to learn her sign language.  It's very cute.

Have fun and stay busy!  We sure will.
